Terms of Service

Last updated November 7, 2026

These terms apply when you send a device to Data Recowery for data recovery. Data Recowery is operated by Prime Global Technologies Inc. (Prime Data Recovery Services), 855 Alness St, Unit 20, Toronto, ON M3J 2X3, Canada. When you open a case, you agree to these terms.

1. Free evaluation and shipping

The evaluation is free. We send you a prepaid shipping label to our lab and we pay for return shipping. For shipments from the United States we prepare the customs paperwork and cover any duties or broker fees on the way in and back. We diagnose your device on the day it arrives at our lab.

2. Prices

3. Donor parts

Some physical repairs need a matching part from a donor drive. If your drive needs one, we show you the part, its real cost and the receipt before you approve. The donor part is charged up front at cost. Because it is bought for your drive, it is not refundable, even if the recovery is not successful. You can also buy the part yourself through a link we send you.

4. No data, no fee

You pay for the recovery only if we recover the data you need and you approve it after seeing the list of recovered files. If we cannot recover your data, you pay nothing for the recovery and we return your device free of charge. Donor parts you approved under section 3 are not refunded.

5. Cases we do not accept

To avoid charging you for cases with little chance of success, we do not accept: phones and tablets; devices already opened or worked on by another shop; SD cards that are physically damaged or not detected by a computer; USB drives that need chip-level work; deleted or formatted files on SSDs; and drives where new data or a new system was written over the lost files. If such a device reaches us, we return it free of charge.

6. Your recovered data

7. Devices not collected

If we cannot reach you for 60 days after we send you the evaluation result or the recovered file list, we may securely erase and recycle the device, after at least two written reminders.

8. Your responsibilities

You confirm that you own the device or have the right to recover the data on it, and that the data was not obtained unlawfully. Pack the device as our packing guide shows. Keep a copy of anything important that is not on the failed device.

9. Limits of our responsibility

Recovery from failed media can never be guaranteed. Failed devices may deteriorate further during normal handling. Our total responsibility for any case is limited to the amount you paid us for that case. We are not responsible for indirect losses, such as lost profits or business interruption.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada. This does not take away any rights you have under the consumer protection laws of the place where you live.
